Application Guidelines for Student Poster Session

10th CSJ Chemistry Festa will be held as Online conference. The student poster session will be held together with R & D exhibition booth by using Remo, one of Web conferencing systems.

The student poster session is aimed at discussion and interaction between students and leading researchers of industry, academia, and government. "Excellent Poster Awards" are offered to poster presenters who would like to be reviewed; researchers in industry and academia review a poster presentation based on the following subjects, such as "presenter's contribution to research", "questions and answers", "originality and possibility for development of research". "Best Poster Awards (CSJ Chemistry Festa Awards)" are chosen among "Excellent Poster Awards". The winners will receive prize and will have an opportunity to publish their comments in "Kagaku-to Kogyou (Chemistry & Chemical Industry published by the Chemical Society of Japan)2 (Issue 1, January 2021). During CSJ Chemistry Festa, participants have an opportunity to interact with researchers in industry at "R & D exhibition booth" presented by industry, academia, and government R & D Introductory Planning Department. Also the oral session is organized for Ph.D. students. This session is aimed to encourage the Ph.D. student poster session participants through their oral presentation. It is also aimed to offer a place for them to interact with researchers, academia and government beyond generations, and other students. Any Ph.D. student poster session participant is welcomed to apply for the oral session with the same content. "Excellent Oral Presentation Awards (tentative)" will be offered to outstanding presentations. Please refer to "Oral Presentation (for Ph.D. Student only)" for the details.

How to Apply
Please use the application form below for 1. Application and 2. Abstract Submission. 1 and 2 need not to be done at same time but note that application will be cancelled if abstract is not submitted within the deadline. If you cannot use the form, please contact the CSJ office as soon as possible. Please note that you cannot apply after the deadline.
Confirmation of Application
Once the application is confirmed, the registration number and password will be issued. In addition, the application details will be sent to the E-mail address you fill in the application form. Please make sure that a registration number is issued and you receive a confirmation E-mail. If you have not received the confirmation E-mail, please be sure to contact the CSJ office by E-mail. Please note that the CSJ office cannot respond after the deadline.
Acceptance of Paper
The organizing committee of CSJ Chemistry Festa will take charge of acceptance of papers and arrangement of programs (category, date and time, and others). Please note that arrangement of programs may not match your preference.
Notification of Poster Number
The poster number will be sent to the E-mail address you fill in an application form. Please make sure that you receive a notification E-mail. If you have not received the notification E-mail, please be sure to contact the CSJ office.
Withdrawal of Application
Withdrawal of your application disrupt the arrangement of programs. Please be sure to ask your supervisor to check the application details before your application. For whatever reason, replacement or withdrawal of your application is not allowed after the deadline.
Public Knowledge
If the date of publication for your patent is fixed by issue of the proceedings, rights are suspended for six months after the date of issuance. Please refer to this link how to obtain the certification for patent application. Publicly available contents on the Internet also corresponds to the public knowledge of your research.
Copyright
The copyright relating to the contents in the proceedings belongs to The Chemical Society of Japan (CSJ). Therefore, when necessary, the copyright will be reprinted by CSJ’s consideration. In addition, when an external organization applies for quotation, CSJ will consider application and allow quotation.
Poster Award
The organizing committee of CSJ Chemistry Festa reviews poster presentations, and “Best Poster Awards (CSJ Chemistry Festa Awards)” and “Excellent Poster Awards” are offered to poster presenters who would like to be reviewed. If you would like to be reviewed the poster presentation, please check “I would like to be reviewed” in your application.

Presentation Content and Presenter's Qualification
In order to put emphasis on discussion, you may include the previously published contents. Poster presentations are only for students, and one student can apply for only one poster presentation.

Entry and Registration Fee
The entry fee (table shown below) is required for poster presenters. As it covers access to all of the sessions, you do not have to make registration to attend CSJ festa. PDF of the Program Book is possible to browse on this site. A booklet (abstracts of poster session are not included) is available for JPY2,000.

After the deadline of application, a bill and a transfer form will be sent to your contact address. Please fill in the required items and make the payment by the due date, the end of August (the entry fee is taxable).
Please make sure that refund cannot be made after your payment.

Change of Presenter
Please be sure to contact the CSJ office about change of the presenter. The change is only valid for co-authors listed in the program. In addition, the poster presentation is excluded from nomination for “Poster Awards” when the presenter changes.

※Abstracts of the student poster session are not included in the booklet, but are posted on the webpage of CSJ Chemistry Festa.
Submission
Please submit your abstract through the following application form. When submitting, please use the registration number and password issued after application.

Oral Presentation (for Ph.D. Student only)

Applicants should choose the oral session when applying for the student poster session.
Please note that Zoom meeting will be used for this session. Details will be informed here later.
*Please note that application for oral session only is not accepted. In case the number of presentations exceeds the capacity, multiple applicants from one laboratory may be asked to reduce the number of presentations to one.
* "Excellent Oral Presentation Awards (tentative)" will be offered to outstanding presentations.
*Oral session time is 12 minutes including 9 minutes for presentation and 3 minutes for Q&A (tentative).
*Presenters are required to attend and engage in discussion at all the presentations during your session.
